It always amazes me as to what I get on my cameras. These 2 young bucks have the whole woods to spar with one another but decided to pick a spot right in front of my camera. I'm not complaining tho.

It's Christmas week & everyone hopes for a white Christmas, but the wildlife really has to adapt to the changes that occur this time of year. Merry Christmas everyone!!

About every TV show personality puts a name to their bucks, so this is the first time I've ever dubbed a name on a deer. I present to you The Kidney Stone Buck, named from my recent kidney stone surgeries. I had planned on hunting this stand on the day this picture was taken as the wind would have been perfect. However, I was recovering from surgery and prior to the rifle season, I pulled my cameras and low and behold this nice shooter walked under my stand as I was laid up recovering. Hince, The Kidney Stone Buck. Yes, this is on public hunting grounds; and unlike hunting TV projects, there are not bucks like this in every walkin hunting area. I fact with the heavy, heavy pressure on all public hunting options for the regular guy, a buck like this was not located by chance, alot of work went into capturing this photo. Thank you Cuddeback!

It never ceases to amaze me how powerful a whitetails nose is. The branch all three are sniffing has orbital gland scent on it. I put it there in October 17 on opening day of bow season. Amazing.
