These two fawns have been wondering our property this spring. It shows the true love twin fawns have for each other. So cute I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share it.

Calving time in the Bitterroot Mountains of Northern Idaho. The winter of 2016 was a big snow year that seemed to hang on for ever. I put a few Cuddeback cameras out this spring to monitor the 2017 calf crop. To my surprise, so far it looks pretty good.

This proud doe and her fawn have shown up on all three Cuddeback cameras I have located on my property . They travel in the daylight hours a lot so it makes for a much better photo . Not a big monster buck but one of the cutest I've ever been able to capture on camera .

Why you don't go into the woods without the dog or a gun. You never know what uses the same path you do.

I've been following this deer since June of last year, he is hiding in the suburbs of North Dallas where he cannot be hunted. He is smart and I dream of one day being able to hunt him. But for now he is one of my highlights of the week to check the camera with my kids and see how much he's grown each week. He looks as if he started growing antlers months before the other bucks.

still to early to tell if this is the buck that has been eluding me the past 2 seasons but I can't wait to watch him and other buck grow through the stages of velvet.
