The three photos show the progression of a juvenile shovin' match between a 6 point mule deer and a 5 point mule deer. Photos were taken under a feeder near a dry creek bottom in the Texas Panhandle.

I followed this buck all summer in hopes to harvest him with my bow. I left my stand 15 mins prior to this photo being shot. He was on his way towards me, probably watching me walk out in this shot.. He stayed nocturnal all year up until he was harvested by a neighbor a week and a half after this photos date. This is the last photo I have of this buck alive, watching me leave the woods. With age comes wisdom.

The camera tells it all! Found a nice scrape line and rubs and wanted to know what kind of buck was out there. RUT! RUT! RUT!

I hung my cuddeback over a couple scrapes on a corn field. In two days I had 13 pictures: a few does, this buck and about 2 or 3 smaller bucks.

Many deer in New Jeresy are shot at an young age and become nocturnal after 2 years. Thanks to my No Flash camera and the rut kicking in this mature bad boy came by twice in one week!
