Always great to hear the Ruffed Grouse drumming in the springtime.

This hen turkey would rather walk on a log rather than fly across a creek.

I came across a Ruffed Grouse drumming log and set up my cuddeback long rang IR. I was surprised to learn that the grouse will drum all night long. I also learned that they are lucky to live through the night. I got pictures of raccoons, fisher and bobcats all attracted to the nighttime activities of the grouse, missing him by only minutes. I can now assume, Ruffed Grouse must have great nighttime eyesight.
