Northern Jaguar Project
Tucson, AZ

An adult male jaguar Ferb and an adult female Libelula seen spending a few days together on the 50,000-acre Northern Jaguar Reserve in Sonora, Mexico (just south of the U.S.-Mexico border). We've had mother and cub photographs before and male/female jaguars seen on the same camera only days apart, but this is the very first time they have been captured in the same images. Jaguars are solitary animals except when mating, so quite exciting! Ferb has been a regular resident of the reserve since spring 2011, however these are the first images documenting this brand new female. Thanks for your consideration!

This photo tells the classic story of life in the wild. It doesn't matter if your bark is worse than your bite. If your bark is big enough you get the corn!

I first saw this deer in December 2010, both on camera and while on my deer stand. My son saw the buck in December 2011 at the same stand. He was a button buck in 2010 and a spike in 2011. I did not get any more trail camera pictures of the deer until May 2012. He appears to be a rather small deer for a 2 year old. Based on how clean the right front shoulder appears, I believe this is a birth defect as opposed to an injury. The December 2010 picture and the May 2012 pictures were taken about 40 yards apart.
