My son and I have been hunting this 11pt since the beginning of the season and the only morning we decide to sleep in (Thanksgiving Day), he steps out at one of the feeders early enough to get that shot. Oh well, there is still a fews week left in the season, provided a neighboring hunter doesn't bag him.

I often wondered what sounds would not spook a buck, I tried whistling, clapping, talking in a lound voice, rotating my sqeaky chair and this buck would look up at each sound few seconds and then go back to eating. But, when I tapped metal to metal and with no hesitation, he bolted.

I have been hunting this property for 8 years, waiting. Finally put out a camera behind the house, unfortunately there are no lights on but this is 100 ft or less from the back of the house. Talk about shutter speed, caught this night cap smeaking through. Sadly, I left my gun in the truck when going to retrieve my cell phone from the tree stand and missed an 80 yd opportunity to bring this big boy down. I didn't even know what I had actually missed until that evening when I check the photos. I didn't even know there were bucks this big on the property much less the county.

We have several pictures of this nice 3-point mule deer prior to the rut. After the rut started in mid-November, he showed up again with the tip of his main beam broken off. Wonder what the other guy looked like!
