Rare and elusive Cape leopards photographed with my 5 year old Cuddeback camera in the Cederberg Mountains of the Western Cape, South Africa. First photograph female leopard with her cub; second photograph, young leopard cub, roughly 6 months old, practicing “chargjng”; third photograph, mother leopard with lunch for her cubs, a rock hyrax.

I set my Cuddeback up over a scrap location that seems to attract heavy traffic every year. First time I saw the photo I only noticed the doe running. A closer look shows why she is running!

After I made a good shot in the vitals my buck jumped through my cuddeback's field of view and snapped a pic at perfect timing. I could not believe the trigger speed. The clarity of the pic even shows the entrance wound.

If my Cuddeback had not captured this photo as proof, I probably wouldn't have believed this rare group showing up together. I consider this picture my 1st trophy photo and it will get printed to be included in my trophy mount corner.

Checked the camera again and found some nice bucks. All different bucks I never saw before, one of the reasons why the rut is a great time to have a trail cam. Love the color at night aspect.
