Well, he did it again, Devil 9 managed to survive another hunting season. I've had over 300 pics of this beast in '16 and more pics than ever before during shooting light. The winter here has been a roller coaster in temps and precipitation and I think that's why he lost his antlers so soon. He's got plenty of food to eat. A friend of mine found his left side the day it came off and I've had it measured twice and both came up with high 75-78 of antler! Here is the last photo of him with the left side still attached. His right side is much bigger. Plus the drop tine. Left side main beams had circumference over 7 and nothing under 5 6/8 . He's got some great mass. I gotta find this other side.

I was checking the photos on my game camera and found this. This point happened when I was walking the dogs around the farm. I did not see this point when it happened. This is Buddy. He was five months old when this photo was taken.

This past year of 2016 The Santa Clarita, California Chapter of QUWF recently repaired several wildlife Guzzlers in the Angels National Forrest in California. We set up the several Ambush Black Flash cameras to see if any of the wildlife were using them and to are delight they were. The cameras caught Deer, Quail, Bobcat, Coyotes and Rabbits using the guzzlers. We were very pleased to see that are hard work we did had paid off and to show the proof by using Cuddeback cameras.

The buck in the photo was harvested this fall by my nephew Micheal in his second year of bow hunting and was his second buck over 150 ( good start to bow hunting) The buck was named JD and got that name by as a three year old my wife found one shed and my brother in law Dave found the other side. I found the J side when he was four. He was a very photo genic buck as over the years we had at least 150 pictures of him, this photo was one of seven of him coming to a scrape. Congrats to Michael but he will be missed.

So after pulling our camera's for the season in southwest Texas, I decided to put cameras up in a small wooded section in the city at home, which does not have many deer and only opened a archery only season in the last couple years in Collin County Texas (North Dallas). Much to my surprise I didn't expect to see any deer or at least nothing of this magnitude. We drive 6 hours to hunt at our actual deer lease, didn't expect to have the opportunity within a mile of home in the big city! Cant wait to get after them this coming season!

Cuddebacks are a great tool to determine when to start shed hunting. We will not enter a core area of our deer until we know the vast majority of them have dropped their antlers. We currently have 9 different bucks hitting a winter food source. Once we see the deer have dropped their antlers we will begin searching. We will then move our cameras and start scouting for turkeys.

I set 5 cameras up on the property and for some reason forgot about one that was up all season and I found it still up while shed hunting today. I had numerous deer but this one particularly caught my attention....never saw him all season....he looks like an older deer that grew a pal-mated rack resembling a moose.
