I set up my trail cam less than 100 yards away from our camper in an area where I had previously seen a fox. I knew there were mountain lions around but was surprised to have gotten this photo of one in the daylight and so close to where we were camped.

I was surprised when I got this photo. 2 large bears in one picture. They must both like apples, since they were searching the ground for fallen apples.

In 1982, we built our home on 20 acres in the Cougar Gulch area SW of CoeurdAlene, Idaho. I have frequent pictures on my Cuddeback of whitetail deer, elk, moose, wild turkey, coyote, black bear and the occasional bobcat, however, this is the first picture of a cougar I have captured in our 36 years on the property. I have my game camera set up about 400 yds from the house. Last year neighbors spotted the big cat four times within 1/2 mile of our place. This year a neighbor had the ram from his sheep herd killed 11 days before the picture was taken, most likely by a cougar. My 84 year old neighbor thought the cougars from Cougar Gulch were extinct . Not so!!!
