Photos from a CuddeLink Long Range IR, Model J-1415 in a field of a 17 acre farm, part of an 8 cam array located in the middle of a small town and the only farm because it is grandfathered. The farm belongs to a long time friend who's family owned it since 1945 or so. It became part of the city when it changed from village to city and they bumped out the borders. Get deer every night in the front yard of the house which is on the main north/south road of the town.

This photo was taken by one of my remote cameras of my Cuddelink system at the very back of my 30 acre wood lot. It’s a natural staging area where deer pause before entering a large agricultural field. This year the field is planted with soybeans. I thought getting all three of these bucks centered in the same frame at the same time made a great picture.

This photo is of a deer I started following last season here in West Virginia. He was a narrow compact-rack 8 point with short brows. I gave him a pass as we are trying to get a better age class of deer on the property despite the neighbors not sharing the same philosophy. In this photo he has returned this year (as well as two others in the same age class) and has shown a significant jump. He had s partner running around with him last year that was very uneven in all of his tines, but especially the brows. We gave him the name “Imperfect 8†while giving this one the name “Perfect 8†since he had perfect symmetry. In this photo, the light shined through the forest canopy directly onto his rack, illuminating what patience and sticking to your plan will eventually produce even when the odds are against these deer.
