I've been watching this deer all summer and I finally captured a picture of him on 10/29/06 and 11/2/06. I had the opportunity to harvest him on 11/7/06, during the archery season. I tracked him , but never found him. I swore it was a good shot. I never quit looking all through November. I thought he would show up, dead, during gun season, but he didn't. I continued to look into December and found him on the 15th. He was where I thought he was all along, dead, but I kept overlooking him. It made me sad because I wasted him, but at last my mind was at ease. My shot was 2 inches below the mark you can see on his right side and the arrow passed through 6 inches back from his armpit on the opposite side. That mark on his right side is an old wound from an arrow.

In the fall on our home farm, the apple tree's that were planted many years ago by some of the early settlers in this area are great place to see deer. This apple tree seemed to be loaded with apples this year and the deer were there all fall. In late October 2006 I bought my first Cuddeback no-flash and decided to put in on the apple tree, after checking the camera I noticed totally by accident when I mounted the camera that I had a scenic backdrop of the family farm in every daytime picture. I collected many pictures this fall but this ten point who curling his lip and scent checking the doe in the background seemed like a family favorite!

I hunt an overgrown apple orchard and I put the camera next to a tree that dropped it's apples late. I had about 250 pictures in 2 weeks. I had 4 different pairs of bucks fighting as well as the ones you see here.

The camera was set over a corn pile and we had this turkey come in. There is a nice 8 point deer that can be seen under his wing.
