Northern Jaguar Project

We introduce you to the newest jaguar cub on the Northern Jaguar Reserve in Sonora, Mexico. Angel was born last year and is approximately five months old in this photo. This tiny jaguar’s mother, Libélula, is the oldest-known female in the region. Libélula has been our near-constant companion on the Northern Jaguar Reserve for more than nine years now. We have watched this matriarch of the endangered northern jaguar population raise multiple litters over the years, including her youngest cub Angel. We estimate this little jaguar is a year old now, and throughout the spring, we have continued to gather photographs of mother and cub exploring the reserve’s safe haven together.

This beautiful little critter has been visiting my yard, behind my garage in the city limits of Marquette, MI. It is quite shy, as I have been sitting out and it will peak out of the bushes, but then retracts and disappears. We have just about every wildlife creature in the forest visiting my backyard. I have seen a wolf, coyote, deer, raccoon, skunks, owls, rabbits, eagle, turkey, ducks, you name it I think it has been here. This little critter has been hanging around my yard and I heard from the neighbors it has a family, but I have not seen them. Have a wonderful day. Paulita
