The velvet bucks, that was the first picture of the year that I got after putting out the camera on the edge of a soybean field (07/23). The group of does (on 10/17) were feeding on a corn pile I had set out to try to see what buck I still had on my hunting ground after the extreme heat and drought took a toll on the herd in the summer of 2011 in SC Kansas. I have never captured this many deer in one image before (8 total) The big 8-pointer (on 11/14) is the buck I have been chasing for three years and have never gotten any daytime photos of this buck. In this photo he was in pursuit of a doe I got a picture of a minute before. The deer were passing through a opening in a fence line where a gate used to be.

Three years ago we were lucky to see deer here. With three years of selective harvesting and food plots year round the quality of bucks visiting our property is really beginning to pay off.

My buddies and I started the lease last year wondering if we were going to have any big deer to shoot at. Hunting season could get here fast enough.

4.5 year old eight point on the prowl just before season. I finally got him early on the morning of the fourth day (11/18). I watched him chase two seperate spikes away from a receptive doe that was on this same food plot. When he came back to claim his prize it didn't work out so well for him. We have five Cuddeback'sspread around 240 acres and he only started showing up on this one the week before the opener. The camera's are great hunting and management tools as we keep them out year around. They're also a great source of entertainment. The one photo is of him chasing one of the spikes but unfortunately I had the timer set for 5 minutes so I don't have any pictures of his return or demise.

I hung my new Attack IR two days prior to this pic in hopes of seeing a good early archery buck and out stepped this velvet 12 pointer. I put an arrow through him six days later on the season opener in WA. My Cuddeback showed when exactly when and where he would be!
