Mineral rocks, licking branches, & mock scrapes pulled in this beautiful buck. You can see the licking branch & what appears to be an injured back right ankle in the final photo. Hopefully this buck is still in the area this fall. I had been following a similar buck for the past 6 years, and he just vanished. Although this is not the same buck, he holds the same genetics and carries a similar distinctive mass.

My family owns 68 acres of land in Ellijay, Georgia where my buddy and I hunt. We mowed down the field and put a feeder up in hopes of baiting in deer and turkeys. For the most part we were successful. The deer and turkeys showed up every day to get some of our delicious corn. Then things took a turn for the worst. This family of gluttonous black bears found our golden stash and it was game over for us. Instead of every day and night of seeing deer it was maybe twice a week a doe would cruise past our feeder. The turkeys didnt seem to mind about the bears nearby presence, still keeping their schedule of feeding in the field 3 times a day religiously. The bears ended up running off our does and tipping the feeder over.

This is one of the more interesting pictures I’ve ever gotten. I haven’t seen a similar pic anywhere else. Not sure if coyotes actually eat pumpkins or what it was doing with it. I bought a bunch of captures in 2011 and most are still working today!

The buck in my picture came from a deer farm from across the Cumberland River in Kentucky. The buck swam across the river during a flood 2 years ago and has stayed on my farm. Over this past winter the tag fell out of his ear and he now has a huge hole in his ear. We are free range farm in Monroe County, KY.
