Put in a mineral lick several years ago, about 100 yards from 1000 acres of Wayne National Forest, have been getting pictures of a bobcat every few months.

After getting home after a busy friday I sat down in my backyard to relax. After a few minutes of unwinding something seemed off. “Where did my birdfeeders go?” I asked myself. Turns out the poles they were attached to were bent 90 degrees at the base and were laying on the ground. Checking the camera soon made it clear who was responsible.

This camera is on mountain property in Eastern North Carolina. It's amazing how many forest animals are intrigued by the thermometers we have placed in the camera view.

A couple of healthy fawns spend a lot of time on this hilltop where they can have a view of approaching predators. Bobcats, a growing pack of coyotes, and an occasional bear keep them on alert.
