My wife and me and our dog Robert were on a winter walk in our swamp in the city limits. We were walking about 20 feet past a 15 foot ladder stand, I looked to my left and saw a bobcat laying on the stand sunning himself. He was staring right at me, I quietly whispered to my wife, There is a bobcat , she didn't even ask me where because she was more concerned about our dog Robert. He was 10 feet from the stand. Robert was frozen with his nose to the ground and would not come when we called him. He must have smelled where the cat had walked. I started toward him and got about 5 feet from Robert then the bobcat jumped off the stand. He landed about 20 feet away from the stand and his next jump was another 10 feet and he was gone. My wife just got a glimpse of him as it bounded away. We had seen bobcat tracks around that area. A week later I decided to put my Cuddyback camera out so I could get a good picture and video of this cat and as you can see my Cuddyback did not let me down.

I set up this trail camera near one of my tree stands on the edge of a swamp. I have gotten many deer and coyotes even a couple of moose. I call this my el chupacabra photo. I sent it to fish and game and they thought it was a great photo. The best they could come up with was a sick coyote. If you look at its paws and mouth it looks all scabby. I had to think twice about hunting this stand going into the woods in the dark.. Thanks enjoy

I'm conducting a field study at my college's field station in the Finger Lakes of NY. The study is being conducted on the edge of a large silver maple-ash swamp. I have 4 Attack IR cameras, and will have them set for 12 weeks, rotating 4 different scent lures through the transect. I'm studying very basic circadian rhythms, and came up with this little guy or gal last week. I THINK I know what it is, but hard to confirm. Help?
