The week before my hunting period, I placed a camera overlooking a firelane near a nice roosting area. After seeing this photo, my cousin and I planned to set up our decoys here on opening morning. After 15 minutes of daylight, the three toms strutted in and we each got our bird.

This high 8 was nocturnal all season but loved the rice bran I put out. We played cat & mouse the last 2 months of the season and he added insult to injury with this pose!

I had a lot of activity on my camera lately. With the weather being so hot and humid in NY, I moved the camera near a natural spring watering hole and it sure made a difference in the number of pictures I got. This is the first time in 15 years of taking pictures that I got a fawn nursing.

This 140 acre property is in marathon county WI, in the town ship of bevent. It consists of mostly swamp and agricultural land with only about 15 acres of hard woods. These nice bucks all came out of one of our tamarack swamps left of the photo. They are going into one of the only patches of hard woods on our property. The first photo is of a nice buck still in velvet. The seconed is of the same buck with his head up and another big deer walking into view. The last photo is of two different deer just out of velvet and all polished up.
