Some strange horn growth (three individual bucks exibit similar strange growth-geographically within 1 mile) Can this be genetic?

This is a buck called Showoff, he looks to be a 3 year old, and will be on next years hit list. He knows he's got a good rack and shows it to all the yearling bucks and does. I am 11 years old, I set up my cuddeback, and it was easy. I enjoy seeing the photos we have on our farm.
