With proper management on a 40 acre parccel, you can still have some great choices on the buck you want, and opportunities for the young hunters to get a buck of the lifettime! Seeing success and knowing their is still a big buck out there for you keeps the hopes and adrenaline up! Check out these three...there are more!

These bears love to be on camera and visit my tree stand quite often. I did not see a deer yet this season. I put my camera and stand on a busy trail to and from a natural food source (apple trees). I have pictures of seven different bears this season.

After drilling a gas well, the drilling company planted several food plots. This made the perfect ambush for a trail-cam to catch bucks cruising...I love the color contrast, like an old oil painting!

This is a buck we've gotten on camera for three years. He has never been seen during the daylight until now. All pictures of him or nighttime also. It just so happened that I was hunting on this morning however I had to get off of my stand early to bring my dad to the Doctor. This deer is unusually large for a whitetail in south Louisiana so we named him Fatboy. He was actually a 10 point last year and seems to have lost two. Good luck to all and hopefully someone will put their tag on this South Louisiana Giant.
