This buck showed up early season and has stuck close even after shedding velvet. He is very easily recognized by his split nose. That would be fun for taxidermist to replicate!!

This is an area in a limited draw unit that has several wallows. I found this wallow a few years ago, and the elk have really taking a liking to it this year. I've seen this bull previously in the velvet on my camera, but this visit to the wallow wasn't for a casual dip. It appears he means business in September! The camera took the photos in IR mode, as it was a cloudy day in a very shaded area with a lot of low covering trees. I think the pictures turned out very cool in IR mode!

Getting great pictures of new bucks showing up on scrapes is so much fun. This buck was not bothered by the flash.

A friend was hunting our property in West Virginia. This nice 8 point walked out into a food plot/feeder combination. The Cuddeback took the photo of the buck just as the arrow passes through him! It was his first buck and it only went 50 yards before falling over. It's amazing that the camera caught the arrow in mid flight!
