This is the buck I was hunting last year. He's 7.5 yrs old. He's never summered on the farm before so I'd never had velvet pictures of him. He'd usually show up in October. But last summer I had lots of pictures of him at my mineral lick. It was nice watching him progress throughout the summer. I was able to get a shot at him on October 26th about 300 yds away.

I love when we get a relatively cool spell in August after a hot July. And so did this big 8 point. I got 29 photos of him. Some working last year’s scrape under a Dunstan Chestnut. Some doing some light sparring with another buck.

I have been feeding the doe and fawn a little apple-flavored deer corn every morning about sunrise. I have one of my cameras at the spot and always enjoy seeing who feeds on the corn besides them. I was surprised this morning when one of the photos showed the fawn reacting to a turkey wanting in on the breakfast.
